Firm News

  • GMPW has been chosen as the recipient of the AIDS Coalition of Southern New NJ (ACSNJ) 2005 Community Award. Community Awards are presented to organizations who show true dedication to ACSNJ through exceptional volunteering efforts. Our staff accountant, Mary Kate Kearney, dedicated many hours providing bookkeeping and accounting services. We congratulate her on her efforts.

  • Recent changes in federal tax law have enhanced the availability of Research & Development tax credits to a variety of clients. We have held a number of small group meetings with clients to explain the enhanced credits and determine their applicability to specific client situations.

  • For the fourth consecutive time GMPW successfully completed a peer review of its system of quality control. This encompasses the firm's organizational structure and the policies adapted and procedures established to provide it with reasonable assurance of complying with professional standards. The review was conducted in accordance with standards established by the Peer Review Board of the AICPA. If you would like to receive a copy of our peer review opinion letter, please contact Kate Horay.

  • Recognizing that health care insurance costs are sky rocketing again, GMPW hosted a seminar for clients and friends of the firm. They offered specific recommendations for minimizing cost increases for employers and employees without significantly reducing the overall quality or scope of medical coverage.

We also offered a seminar for our clients and friends on the subject of Long-term Care Insurance. We recognize that nursing home costs and in-home care can significantly and negatively impact a person's life long accumulation of wealth. Long-term care insurance is a little known, but highly effective method of reducing the financial risk of aging.
